16-35 Mk I vs 24-70 vs 24-105 vs 50 1.4

This is actually an older test of mine, but since I'm in the mood for lens tests, I figure I'd post this one. I will be comparing a Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS vs a Canon 300 f2.8L IS later today.

Canon 24-70 f2.8L vs Canon 24-105 f4L IS vs 50 f1.4 @ 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 70mm

Shot with a 1DII, MLU, Tripod, Cable release.

The photo below the crops is the setup shot which shows where each crop is taken from.

Please note that the following images are 100% crops and have not been sharpened. Please feel to copy the images and sharpen them to your own taste.

I would have added the 70-200IS into the mix at 70 & 105mm, but chose to fill the frame with the $2 bills @ 24mm. This focusing distance was too close for the 70-200IS. If I had a time (lol) to redo the test, I would have had the $2 bills fill just the lower left portion of the screen.

24mm shootout: 16-35 vs 24-70 vs 24-105

35mm shootout: 16-35 vs 24-70 vs 24-105

50mm shootout: 24-70 vs 24-105 vs 50 1.4

70mm shootout: Canon 24-70 f2.8L vs Canon 24-105 f4L
